Sergio Longobardi

Sergio Longobardi is an associate professor in the Management and Quantitative Studies Department at the Parthenope University of Naples. He has participated in several scientific projects and has served as a consultant for the Organization for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD), the Italian National Institute for the Evaluation of the Education and Training System (INVALSI) and the Commission for the Quality Assurance of Statistical Information (COGIS).

His research focuses on the economics of education, equity in education systems, student mobility, policy evaluation, and the quality of statistical data. He has published several articles on the economics of education in various scientific journals and with international publishers. Sergio Longobardi lectures in different undergraduate and postgraduate courses since 2006.

It is still too early to measure the extent of this negative impact in increasing inequalities and more generally in worsening the living conditions of a large share of the world population. Some data from pre-COVID periods, however, can help in setting expectations.
